There is a huge difference introduced to your lives if you are living in Kalyan East towards Dombivali. Here is how. There was a bridge called Patripul that connected Kalyan East to West. Since, you don't have access to any platform from Kalyan East, you need to go to Kalyan West to board a train from any platform, Patripul played a huge role making your life easier.
However, being a bridge built in the British era, Patripul was too unsafe to be used by general public and hence, got demolished on August 2018. Since then people were left with the only alternative bridge which creates traffic havoc daily, adding approximately half an hour more to your travel time.
Some people were smarter. To avoid the Patripul traffic, they started to park their two-wheelers in the Kalyan East Parking near Lokdhara and used the Foot-over-Bridge (FOB) to reach the platforms. As this 28-year old FOB was considered dangerous, it was also shut for public use since May 13, 2019, leaving no easy alternative for nearby public.
The concerning part is that work on neither the bridge nor the FOB has started yet, making the wait for a less inconvenient life even longer and uncertain.
